हीरा क्या है।
हीरा एक प्रकार तत्व है जो कार्बन का ही एक ठोस रूप है। कार्बन एक रासायनिक तत्व
है। कार्बन का ही एक रूप कोयला है जो वनस्पतियों एवं जीवों के अवशेषों से बना होता
है।
हीरा एक पारदर्शी रत्न है। जिसे देखने पर कोई वस्तु आर पार भी देखी जा सकती है।
इसे कोयले के खदानों मे पाया जाता है। यह एक पत्थर के टुकड़ो की तरह ही होता है पर
इसे तराशा जाता है तब यह इतना सुन्दर दिखाई देता है।
हीरा बहुत ही मजबूत होता है ऐसा इसलिए कि इसमे सभी कार्बन परमाणु बहुत ही शक्तिशाली
सह-संयोजी बन्ध द्वारा जुड़े होते हैं। इसमें एक भी इलेक्ट्रान स्वतंत्र नही होता
है इसलिए यह ऊष्मा तथा विद्युत का कुचालक होता है।

हीरे का बनना
कई वैज्ञानिक कहते हैं कि हीरे जमीन से लगभग 150-160 किलोमीटर नीचे बहुत ही गर्म माहौल
में बनते हैं। इसके ज्वालामुखीय गतिविधियां इन्हें ऊपर की तरफ लाती हैं। इसे खदान
से निकालने के बाद इसके रूप को बदला जाता है मतलब तराशने का कार्य किया जाता है। जो
आप इन्हे छोटे-छोटे और बहुत ही सुन्दर रूप में देखते हैं तो इसे बहुत प्रक्रिया से
गुजारने के बाद ऐसा बनाया जाता है।
हीरा मिलता कहां कहां है।
वैसे तो इसे सबसे पहले भारत में ही पाया गया था जो गोलकुंडा क्षेत्र में मिला था।
विश्व में सर्वाधिक हीरे दक्षिण अफ्रिका में पाये जाते हैं। दक्षिण अफ्रीका की किम्बरले
की खान जो विश्व प्रसिद्ध हीरे की खान है, यह विश्व की सबसे गहरी खान है।
भारत में कहां कहां पाया जाता है हीरा
भारत में मध्य प्रदेश का पन्ना हीरे के खनन के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। कोल्लूर खान,
गोलकोंडा में हीरे
की खदानें पायी जाती है। गोलकुंडा की खान से ही प्रसिद्ध कोहिनूर हीरा प्राप्त हुआ
था। अब यह कोहिनूर ब्रिटेन में है।
भारत में सूरत हीरा तराशने का सबसे बड़ा केंद्र है जबकि विश्व में सबसे बड़ा व्यापार
केंद्र बेल्जियम का एंटवर्प है।
हीरे को कैरेट में मापा जाता है और एक कैरेट की माप 0.200 ग्राम यानी 200 मिलीग्राम के बराबर मानी गई है

हर हीरे को प्रकृति एक अलग यानी नायाब पहचान देती है। फिर असली हीरे की पहचान कैसे
की जाए?
हीरे की असली पहचान कैसे करें-
- अपने मुंह के सामने पत्थर रखें और उसपर सांस छोड़कर भाप पैदा करें जिस तरह से आप शीशे पर करते हैं । यदि उसपर कुछ सेकंड के लिए भाप रहती है, तो यह शायद नकली है — एक असली हीरा तत्क्षण आपकी सांस की गर्मी को हटाता है और उसपर आसानी से भाप नहीं जमती है । यदि आपको भाप पैदा करने के और फिर उसे देखने के बीच में इंतजार भी करना पड़े, यह तब भी एक नकली हीरे की तुलना में बहुत तेजी से साफ हो जाएगा ।
- आप हीरे को अखबार पर रखे और उसके पार से अक्षरो को पढ़ने की कोशिश करे। अगर आपको टेढ़ी लकीरे दिखे तो इसका मतलब है की आपका हीरा नकली है।
- अगर आप हीरे को पराबैंगनी किरणों में देखेंगे तो यदि वह हीरा नीली आभा के साथ चमकता है तो हीरा असली है। परन्तु हीरे से हलकी पीली हरी या फिर स्लेटी रंग की आभा निकले तो समझ लीजिये की ये मोइसा नाइट है।
- असली हीरा पानी में डालते ही डूब जाता है जबकि नकली हीरा पानी के ऊपर तैरने लगता है।
दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा हीरा कलिनन हीरा (Cullinan Diamond) है जो 3106 कैरेट का है।
उपयोग
- बहुत अधिक चमक और सुन्दर दिखने के कारण इसे जवाहरात के रूप में उपयोग किया जाता है।
- कांच को काटने मे इसका उपयोग किया जाता है।
- इसका उपयोग दूसरे हीरे को काटने एवं उस पर पालिश करने में भी होता है।

- Place a stone in front of your mouth and breathe on it to create steam the way you do on a glass. If it steams for a few seconds, it is probably fake - a real diamond instantly removes the heat of your breath and does not easily evaporate. Even if you have to wait in between to generate steam and then see it, it will still clear much faster than a fake diamond.
- You put the diamond on the newspaper and try to read the letters from across it. If you see curved lines, it means that your diamond is fake.
- If you see a diamond in ultraviolet rays, if that diamond shines with a blue aura, then the diamond is real. But if there is a pale yellow green or gray colored aura from the diamond, then understand that it is Moisa Knight.
- The real diamond is immersed in water, while the fake diamond floats above the water.
